This paper looks at the city of Markham, a suburb of Toronto, Ontatrio, Canada. It analyzes the makeup of the city - rural/urban, residential/industrial/ commercial, location of the city, its surroundings, its geography, and its ethnic and economic makeup. It suggests ways the city can try to avoid losing its rural character to urban sprawl.
